In the middle of the granite floor of the reception hall there is, in marble, a picture of a bee and round it the consonants of the name of the Abbot of Kykkos Nikephoros with the date of construction1996 (picture 4). The bee was adopted in the 18th century as the official emblem of the Abbot of Kykkos as it symbolizes industriousness and orderliness. On the Ieft, high up on the frieze of the southern wall, lies the founder's plaque bearing the following text:
THIS HOUSE THAT YOU SEE VISITOR CALLED
MUSEUM OF THE HOLY MONASTERY OF KYKKOS
STATELY REPOSITORY OF OLD WORKS WAS
BUILT BY ABBOT NIKEPHOROS ZEALOUS
PRESENTER OF SPLENDID FINDINGS FOR THE
REMEMBRANCE OF FUTURE GENERATIONS IN
THE YEAR OF OUR LORD ONE THOUSAND NINE
HUNDRED AND NINETY FIVE.
