Wood-carved objects and church furniture items are also exhibited. From the deserted Metochion (Annexe) of the
Virgin of Sinte (Paphos) are exhibited some wood-carved ornaments of the iconostasis, which belong to the 6th century,
enriched with gilded locks of plants, clams, birds and animals (picture 69).
An old big wooden and bone-ornamented throne of the holy icon of Kykkos (picture 68) of arabo-islamic style, ornamented
with vegetable and geometric motifs as well as Christian symbols deserves special mention. It is a work of 1785, a telling
specimen of the co-existence of the two worlds, Orthodox Christianity and Islam and their mutual influence in the sphere of art.
